NAREB Nashville will host its annual Realtist Week from April 6 – 12, 2025. This is part of a national initiative led by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) to increase Black homeownership and promote financial literacy, professional development, and economic empowerment in Black communities. The week begins with the sold out Black Excellence Awards Ceremony, which serves as the official kickoff on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the National Museum of African American Music, 510 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, with this year’s theme “A Night of Stars.” Plan now to get your tickets early for next year’s event.

Now in its fourth year, the Black Excellence Awards recognize top-performing Black professionals in Middle Tennessee’s real estate industry. Categories include: Multi-Million Dollar Award for real estate agents with $2 million or more in 2024 production; Top Producer Award for agents with $4 million or 15 transactions; and the Top Producer Award for loan originators with $8 million or 30 transactions. The evening will include dinner, music, networking, and recognition of Black excellence in real estate.

Realtist Week continues Sunday, April 6, with A Day of Worship at Olive Branch Church, 938 Havenhill Drive, Nashville, TN 37217. This is a time for members to gather in worship and reflection to start the week. On Tuesday, April 8, members will share a State of Housing Realtist Breakfast, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, at the North Precinct, 2231 26th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208. This is a breakfast meeting to discuss the current state of housing in Nashville and how it impacts Black communities. Topics include affordability, equity, and opportunities to increase homeownership In Nashville, TN.

Thursday, April 10, Youth Reading Day at Carter Lawrence Elementary School, is a day of service, as members will read to students at the school as part of their community engagement efforts.

Saturday, April 12, come join the members of NAREB Nashville for their Building Black Wealth Tour & Community Day from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, at Knowledge Academies, 5320 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Antioch, TN 37013. This is a free public event designed to provide education and resources around real estate, wealth building, and community development.

Activities will include six Educational Sessions, as follows: What to do with Big Mama’s House? – focusing on estate planning, inheritance, and handling family-owned property; Investing in Real Estate – covers syndication and portfolio-building strategies;  ABCs of Home Buying – walks through the homebuying process, credit, affordability, and financing; Careers in Real Estate – Introduces career paths such as brokerage, appraisal, property management, and finance; I Have Equity – Now What? – discussing reverse mortgages, HELOCs, and equity strategies; and Show Me the Money – focusing on down payment assistance programs and other affordability resources.
