
Nashville Comicon is proud to welcome TV and film star Phil LaMarr to this year’s convention, billed as Nashville Tennessee’s Comic and Pop Culture main event. Lua Stardust will host Sunday’s Cosplay Contest. Nashville Comicon is a celebration of all things geeky with a little something for everyone. They are proud to bring TV and Film Stars, Top Comic Creator Talent, Amazing Artists, a Curated Vendor Market, Highly Skilled Cosplayers, and more all under one rooftop to over 10,000 fans annually.
This year’s Special Guests also include Sean Astin, John Wesley Shipp, Danhausen, Richard Horvitz, Xander Mobus; and Star Wars Clone Wars Cast members Ashley Eckstein, Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, Catherine Taber, Nika Futterman, and more.
The show has continued to grow thanks to the incredible support of loving fans and celebrities who have been willing to take a chance on the show and the behind the scenes team. They would like to pay a special “Thank You” to everyone who got them from there to here, especially the multi – talented multi – hyphenated Jason “Mars” Marsden and Remy Dee, So Nashville, and Kent Georgi.
Nashville Comicon is a creation of Incredible Conventions, an event organizing company specializing in Pop Culture shows for all ages. The Show Hours are Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 5pm. Phil LaMarr is best known for his work on Futurama, Samurai Jack, Static Shock, Pulp Fiction, Justice League Animated Series, MAD TV, and many more. Phil will be appearing both days for autographs and selfies at his table (except during his panel and breaks). A Los Angeles native, Phil is a graduate of Harvard-Westlake School, Yale University and The Groundlings Theater and is perhaps best known as one of the original cast members of Mad TV (1995) and as Marvin in Pulp Fiction (1994).
In addition to numerous appearances on stages across the country, in films and on TV, he also starred in and produced the comedy web series Inside the Legend (2012). He has also been profiled for his extensive voice-over work, which includes regular roles on animated series as well as parts in video games like Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (2014) for which he won the NAVGTR Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is an avid collector of Marvel and DC comics.
You love Sean Astin from his many roles including Goonies, Rudy, Stranger Things, 50 First Dates, and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. John Wesley Shipp starred in The Flash (CBS), Dawson’s Creek, The Flash (CW), Guiding Light, As The World Turns. In Star Wars: Clone Wars, Ashley Eckstein is the voice Ashoka, Matt Lanter is Anakin Skywalker, and James Arnold Taylor is Obi-Wan Kenobi.
You may recognize Richard Horvitz from Invader Zim, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Helluva Boss, and Hazbin Hotel; Bryce Pinkham from Helluva Boss, Proven Innocent, and Mercy Street; Nika Futterman from Star Wars: Clone Wars, Loud House, Minnies’ Bow-Toons, Young Justice, and DC Super Hero Girls; Catherine Taber as Padme Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Lori in Loud House.
Lua Stardust will be the host for this year’s exciting Cosplay Contest on Sunday. Lua Stardust is an Alternative Model, Cosplayer and Internet personality based in Philadelphia. Her love for comics, video games, horror & anime has allowed her to create incredible costumes.
Cosplay Contest First Place Prizes are $200 in cash and prizes; and Second Place Prizes are $100 in cash and prizes. Adult (Ages 16 and up), Kids (15 and under), and Group (3 or more members; prizes are for group, not individual persons) Cosplay Judging is held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm on Sunday. Winners will be announced at the main stage at 3:45pm.
An Adult Weekend Pass is only $37.25 ($35.00 + $2.25 fee); VIP Weekend is $78.65 ($75.00 + $3.65 fee); Saturday Pass is $26.90 ($25.00 + $1.90 fee) Sunday Pass is $21.72 ($20.00 + $1.72 fee). PLEASE NOTE: Kids 10 and under get in FREE with the purchase of any Day, Weekend, or VIP pass by their parent or guardian.
