College students interested in public service have a new opportunity to gain hands-on experience, as applications are now open for the Oliver Fellows Program led by State Sen. Charlane Oliver.
The four-month paid fellowship is designed for students attending two-year or four-year institutions within Senate District 19. The program aims to develop the next generation of leaders by providing practical experience in government and community engagement.
Students majoring in political science, communications, journalism, pre-law and related fields are especially encouraged to apply.
Selected fellows will serve from May 18 through August 31, working closely with Sen. Oliver and her team while gaining insight into the legislative process and public service leadership.
The application deadline is Friday, May 1, at 11:59 pm, CST.
The program offers a valuable opportunity for students looking to build careers in public service while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
