The Davidson County Register of Deeds is expanding its Property Alert Protection Program to include text message notifications, giving residents another tool to help safeguard one of their most valuable assets—their home or property.
The program, which already provides monitoring through a mobile app and email alerts, now offers real-time text notifications to help users respond more quickly to potentially fraudulent activity involving their property records.
“We recognize that mortgage and property fraud is one of the fastest-growing crimes impacting hardworking citizens, and we want to help you stay one step ahead,” said Karen Johnson. “By adding text alerts, we are providing instant information, because acting quickly can make all the difference when protecting your property.”
Property fraud, including unauthorized filings and deed transfers, has become a growing concern nationwide. Officials say early detection is key to preventing long-term damage.
The Property Alert service is free and available to all residents. Those interested in enrolling can sign up online at <Nashville.gov> through the Register of Deeds office.
