The community is invited to celebrate Black History Month at the C.E. McGruder Family Resource Center, 2013 25th Avenue North from 5:30-7:30 pm.
This event will consist of storytelling, dance, Freedom Riders, the spoken word, music and light refreshments. Another informative presentation will be

The Rose That Grew From Concrete: Stories of Being Black in America’ presented heralding African American Heritage in addition to other entertainment and fellowship for the entire family.

Because February is recognized as Black History Month, it is a special honor that the McGruder Center gives tribute to the late Mrs. Curlie E. McGruder.

Matthew Walker and the United Way both work in conjunction with the C.E. McGruder Family Resource Center in order to maintain the heritage of African Americans through all of the programs and efforts that come through the center.
