FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The Williamson County Area Chapter will host its Women of Excellence Gala and Auction as it celebrates 35 years of supporting the community through service and leadership activities for children.
The event will recognize honorees, Tena Hardy, Shanna Jackson and Debbie Winans Lowe, women who have exemplified the organization’s mission through service and philanthropic efforts. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Foundation nationally and New Hope Academy, locally.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a non-profit organization, was founded by an African American, Marion Stubbs-Thomas in 1938. The original mission (to provide minority children with educational, cultural, civic, recreational, and social programs to aid them in growth and development) has expanded over the years to include all children.
The Jack and Jill of America Foundation, Inc. exists as the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Since its inception in 1968, the Foundation has acted to influence the ongoing positive development of children.
The Foundation awards grants to support community service projects, sponsored by Jack and Jill chapters across the United States. The Williamson County Area Chapter, chartered in 1980 continues to provide opportunities for children and families in Williamson County and surrounding counties.
The Women of Excellence Gala and Auction, October 3, will honor women who help to better conditions of the community and work alongside others in philanthropic and service efforts provide opportunities for children and families.
