The Small Business Saturday Expo comes to Nashville on Saturday, Nov. 26. The inaugural Small Business Saturday Expo (SBE) will take place at The Bistro at Emma from 11:30 am–3:30 pm. The noted event is in alignment with American Express’ nationally recognized Small Business Saturday. SBE 2016 will also serve as a local celebration of the recent opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
This one-day event will feature an art gallery, local authors, live entertainment, food, unique shopping opportunities, and holiday fun with local businesses and sponsors. Shatona Kilgore-Groves, founder of Crown Events, explained that the connection between the nationally recognized shopping day and the new museum was a natural one.
“The concept for an expo that celebrates art, history, and culture came from my own experiences as a small business owner looking for affordable opportunities to display my products,” she said. “Add in the momentous occasion that just occurred in D.C., and I knew that the celebration needed to be brought to Nashville. The city has so much to offer, and I wanted to provide a space to unite business owners, artists, and the entire community.”
The 2016 Small Business Saturday Expo: Celebration of Art, History, and Culture is free to the public.
Artists may display up to three pieces in the event’s art gallery at no cost, and vendor prices range from $25-$100 per table. Supporting organizations include Bruegger’s Bagels and Diana Morris’ Editing.
