Enjoy live art this Saturday in Nashville

The First Saturday Art Crawl is back this year. The art crawl begins at 6 p.m. on 5th Avenue of the Arts in downtown Nashville.

More than 20 art venues will participate in the monthly gallery hop. You can see world-renowned artists and get to know native ones, too. Walk down 5th Avenue of the Arts, Off Broadway, and be sure to allot time for the historic Arcade.

The first Saturday of every month when art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings! Over 1,000 people attend this very popular monthly event. Presenting local and world-renowned artists and artwork, the galleries offer rare opportunities to view diverse exhibitions featuring every genre of art.

First Saturday Art Crawl is a festive atmosphere with participating venues located along Fifth Avenue of the Arts and in the Historic Arcade – all welcoming the community to experience downtown Nashville as a center for art.

Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. The gallery crawl is a great free night on the town!

If you want to get even deeper into art, start your night at The Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Every first Saturday of the month they give an architecture tour at 4:30pm.

Every inch of the building offers a piece of history to discover. Constructed between 1933 and 1934, during the Great Depression, the former post office is a prominent Nashville architectural treasure from the Art Deco period.

The Frist Center’s first Saturday architecture tours are interpreted by certified American Sign Language instructors provided through Bridges, a Nashville-based organization that serves the deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing communities.

Admission is free for the art crawl and free shuttles from Nashville Downtown partnership run between 6 and 10 p.m. as well.
