Judge Allegra Walker appoints Manson to serve as Referee for Environmental Court

Judge Allegra Walker has appointed John Manson, attorney, to serve as the Referee for the General Sessions Environmental Court effective Friday, June 2. The General Sessions Environmental Court was created to address Metro Code violations pertaining to building, trash debris in neighborhoods and business sites. Environmental Court also enforces leash law violations, nuisance complaints about dog barking and at large or vicious dogs.

John Manson is a native Nashvillian with a Bachelor’s degree in music from Morehouse College, as well as a Juris Doctorate from Howard School of Law.

Prior to joining his current firm Manson, Johnson Conner, PLLC, John served as Special Master and law clerk for the Eighth Circuit Court in Davidson County, Tennessee for eight years. In his role as Special Master, he sat as an appointed Judge, hearing Orders of Protection, Child Support, Probate and Divorces. Recently, he served as a part-time Judicial Commissioner for General Sessions Court.

Manson has served as the past president of the Napier-Looby Bar Association; was a 2017 graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership class; and was a former faculty member for the National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence.

The swearing-in ceremony for Manson will be Friday, June 2, at 2 pm in Courtroom 3C in the Justice A.A. Birch Building.
