Basketball Senior Day, Tournament, and Fall Football Schedule

The Tennessee State University men’s basketball team hosted Eastern Kentucky at the Gentry Center on Saturday night, Feb. 17 in the final home game of the regular season for the Tigers. TSU honored seniors Delano Spencer, Darreon Reddick and Ken’Darrius Hamilton with a ceremony prior to tipoff. TSU then ended the regular season at Belmont on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team played their final home game of the 2017-18 season on Saturday night, Feb. 17 when the Lady Tigers hosted Eastern Kentucky in an OVC matchup on Senior Night and Courtside Dining Night, and defeated Eastern Kentucky, 69-58, in overtime in the Gentry Center. TSU returned to action on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Tennessee Tech, before ending their season at Belmont on Saturday, Feb. 24.

#1 Delano Spencer is a 6-3, 200 lb., Guard, from Atlanta, Ga.; previously attended Coffeyville CC; Majoring in Mass Communications; he is the son of Delano and Thelma Spencer.

#14 Darreon Reddick is a 6-4, 195 lb., Guard, from Belleville, Ill.; previously attended Belleville East HS; Majoring in Exercise Science; he is the son of Tiffany Reddick.

#4 Ken’Darrius Hamilton is a 6-9, 245 lb., Forward / Center Guard, from Montgomery, Ala.; previously attended Meridian CC; Double Majoring in Mass Communications and Sociology; he is the son of Latonya Hamilton.

#32 Maxine Beard is a 5-7 Guard, from St. Louis, Mo.; previously attended Hazelwood Central HS; Majoring in Mechanical Engineering; she is the daughter of Erik and Dorothy beard.

OVC Basketball Tournament

The 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships is being held at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana this week, Wednesday, February 28 through Saturday, March 3. Follow the TSU Tigers on FM 102.1 The Ville. Mens games through the Quarterfinals will be visible on the OVC Digital Network, with Semifinals on ESPNU (March 2) and the Championship on ESPN2 (Sat., March 3). The womens team did not make the tournament field.

Tiger Football 2018 Schedule
Tennessee State announced its 2018 football schedule, with four home games and another trip to crosstown Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponent Vanderbilt. The Tigers open the home slate by hosting Bethune-Cookman in the John Merritt Classic on Sept. 1. TSU will hit the road for the next six contests, including their annual meeting with Jackson State at the Southern Heritage Classic on Sept. 8 in Memphis, Tenn. The remainder of the home line-up consists of a trio of Ohio Valley Conference matchups. Tennessee Tech visits Nashville on Oct. 20 for Homecoming 2018, while Jacksonville State and UT Martin make visits to close out the Tigers regular season on Nov. 10 and Nov. 17, respectively.

TSU begins the road portion of the schedule at Hampton on September 15, then open conference play at Eastern Illinois on September 22, then step out of conference play on September 29 with its second game with Vanderbilt in three years. The Tigers also travel to Austin Peay and Murray State. The final OVC road contest is November 3 at Southeast Missouri. Dates are subject to change, and times will be announced later.
