George Thomas: Why I’m running for State Senate District 19

George Thomas

I am honored to use this platform to announce my decision to run for the Tennessee State Senate District 19. It has always been my passion to serve my community and, if elected, I will strive to meet the diverse needs of the district’s constituents by putting the people first.

I am committed to fight for equality in education, affordable housing, crime prevention and healthcare. These issues are disproportionally impacting our district, resulting in unnecessary financial, physical, and emotional stress which is felt by many. In an effort to begin addressing these issues, I started a non-profit organization, the Education Equal Opportunity Group in 2001. The mission of EEOG is to expose students to education opportunities otherwise not known and lessen the educational equity gap.

By embracing the idea that one person can make a difference, I choose daily to advocate the needs of our community. I possess a strong background and proven track record in leadership and consensus building. Since 2007, I have received more than $300,000 in funding by working with both Democrats and Republicans, in the Tennessee General Assembly to help meet the needs of at-risk public high school students across the State of Tennessee.

Today, I recognize that more must be done collectively in order to have a larger impact. With your support, we can make major changes within our community. Your vote is pivotal and will determine the outcome of this election. The Senator you elect will be your voice for the next four years; therefore, I encourage you to exercise your right to vote and support me in the August election.

Our Campaign Kick-Off Celebration will be held on April 20, 2018, at The Clarion Hotel Sky Ball Room, at 5:30 PM. I am extending an invitation to all District 19 constituents to attend this event and I look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can improve our community and state.

If you would like to learn more about me, my campaign platform, and if you are interested in volunteering or making a donation, I invite you to visit our website at www.GeorgeThomasUSA.com or personally contact me at (615) 400-7657.

I ask for the prayers and support of each reader of this prestigious publication and thanks for your support and encouragement.

Thank You,
George Thomas
