Juneteenth Harmonic Fitness (JHF) Fun Day to be held

Sharone Hall, director of the Juneteenth Nashville Project (JNP) has invited everyone to celebrate Juneteenth (June 19 ).

“It’s about freedom and citizenship,” Hall said.

This year JNP is hosting the Juneteenth Harmonic Fitness (JHF) that will be held at Hadley Park on June 15, from 9 am till noon.

The JHF will be a combination of health and wellness with observance of Juneteenth-Emancipation Proclamation and June as Black Music Appreciation Month.

“In addition to Juneteenth’s civic responsibility theme, the event’s messages are positive and encouraging—and the activities will stimulate and motivate,” Hall said.

The collective display tables will provide useful health information and screenings, nutritious eating practices, food strategies, unique food resources, smart money tips, interactive/participatory movement music, and a recorded music marathon rotation of Black music contributions to all American music (gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, etc.).

There will also be donation tables for those wanting to assist community programs like Second Harvest, the Pearl-Cohn marching band, etc.

“This will be a happy, fun, and free community event day,” said Hall. “Come and join the fun!”
