The board of directors of the Metropolitan Teachers Credit Union recently hosted a Retirement Luncheon at the Kingdom Cafe for long-time employee Loyce Thompson. Mrs. Thompson has been employed at the credit union for the past 16 years as a teller/administrative assistant. The luncheon was the credit union’s way of expressing appreciation for Thompson’s many years of exemplary service.

During the luncheon several of the attendees expressed individual accolades about Thompson, citing specific examples of her strong work ethic and their appreciation for her years of service. Thompson expressed her thanks to the credit union for honoring her. She also said that she would miss the members and staff, but was grateful for the long-term relationships that developed as a result of her working at the credit union.

The retirement from the Metropolitan Teachers Credit Union is Thompson’s second retirement from a second career. Mrs. Thompson’s first job was with the Metropolitan Public School System as an English teacher at the middle and high school levels. She retired from that position in 2003 after working 31 years in the school system.
