General’s Call Center rallies behind Nashville General Hospital Foundation’s All-Weather Wellness Campaign

The Nashville General Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Nashville General Hospital (NGH), is grateful for the recent donation from The General’s Customer Service Call Center as part of the All-Weather Wellness Campaign. Led by Customer Service Manager Angelique ‘Angie’ Walker, their generous donation included nearly 100 hats, gloves, neck warmers, and over 100 pairs of socks—essential items to keep NGH patients warm and comfortable this winter. The Foundation was grateful for the support and applauded The General’s commitment to serving the community.

Reflecting on her inspiration, Angie Walker said: “I have been in the Nashville General Hospital Emergency Room and witnessed firsthand how some patients didn’t have adequate clothing for the season. I knew I needed to do something.”

Each year, during Customer Service Week, The General’s team chooses a community that aligns with their annual theme. This year’s theme, ‘Mission is Possible,’ resonated deeply as the team considered ways to serve the local community. After thoughtful deliberation, team members opted to collect new winter essentials like hats, gloves, scarves, and socks, which led Walker to seek out a deserving organization, the Nashville General Hospital Foundation.

“We as an organization take great pride in the community service projects we support,” said Walker. “While not everyone in our 136-person Nashville call center participated, the impact was still phenomenal. We know this is just the beginning, and it’s something we can continue to grow year after year.”

The donation supports the Foundation’s All-Weather Wellness Fund, which provides patients with essential items such as new coats, shoes, T-shirts, hats, gloves, and sweatshirts. These items help ensure that NGH patients face any season with dignity and comfort.

Lillian Medina, director of Case Management and Social Services at NGH, said: “When you give a patient a brand-new T-shirt, pair of shorts, or shoes and they see the price tag, it makes them feel like they are worth something—like they are somebody. For many, this is the first new item they have received. It makes them feel special and unique.”

The All-Weather Wellness Fund accepts donations of new essential clothing items, and monetary contributions are also welcomed to further support NGH patients.
