Free Comic Book Day is almost here. On the first Saturday in May, May 2, comic shops across the country will be celebrating one of the best days of the year for fans. It’s the biggest celebration in the comic book world, and you’re invited!
On this special day, comic shops across North America and around the globe open their doors and give away FREE comics to everyone who walks in. Yes, totally free! New for 2026 are hobby and board game stores, too! While comic shops remain the heart of FCBD, this expansion means even more places to discover great stories and connect with your community.
Many shops go all out with costume contests, creator signings, raffles, prizes, photo ops with costumed characters, and other fun activities. Every shop celebrates in its own way, so you never know what surprises await! So, grab your friends, head to your local comic shop (and check if your favorite game store is participating!) on Saturday, May 2, and join the celebration. Free comics, fun events, and a community that loves what you love.
