It was a great evening for services as well as service providers at the Tennessee Technology Center of the Nashville Community College in Nashville.

On that evening Blessed Revelations sponsored a Pampering/Spa Event on Dec. 10, 2012. Brenda Humphey, executive director of Blessed Revelations said we wanted to do something special during the holiday season. “We brought homeless mothers and children to receive some pampering to boost their morale and self-esteem,” said Humphey. “The mothers, the girls, and boys were able to get their hair cut and styled.

It was a wonderful evening that included not only receiving hair styles, but there was also refreshments and gifts for those in attendance.

Blessed Revelations is a ministry of Bethal AME, the Rev. Micheal Broadnax is the pastor.

This Christmas service project included the help of several churches, Bethal AME; Salem AME, Rev. Anthony Thomas, pastor, coordinated the transportation; and Boyce Street MBC Bus Ministry, Rev. Jerome Overton, pastor.

Ms. Humphey was also thankful that the school had opened their doors to them; and that the instructors were so willing and the hair stylists did such wonderful jobs. “We truly thank, the….and Ms. Louise Fonfaw, supervisor, Human Services.

All of those who helped, including our board members….., helped to make the evening memorable. “This is our way to let them [mothers and children] know that they are not forgotten and that they are worthwhile,” said Humprey.

“It was great to serve,” said Ms, Fondaw, “we must all give back.”

The brochedure of the organization describes it’s mission as “a beacon of light in the lives of single mothers and their children by empowering them through blessed revelations… a local initiative, provide support from housing to helping single mothers and their children become productive citizens.”
