Wolff promoted to captain at Corps of Engineers

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Lt. Col. James A. DeLapp, district commander, promoted Army 1st Lt. Corey T. Wolff to the rank of captain Dec. 7.

Wolff’s parents, Ted and Dona Wolff, placed his new rank insignia on his uniform.

A native of Chatham, Ohio, Wolff is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and received his commission there in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management with a civil engineering track.

He deployed to Afghanistan as a combat engineer platoon leader in 2010 where his platoon owned battle space covering four separate districts in Nangahar province and his platoon supported the 1-502 Infantry Battalion in the Zari district, Kandahar province, during Operation Dragon Strike.
