FRANKLIN, TN– The Boys & Girls Clubs have announced Ron Crutcher as this year’s inaugural Ed Moody Award of Excellence recipient, recognized for his continuous and exceptional service to Boys & Girls Clubs in Williamson County, Tenn. Crutcher will accept the award at the 24th annual Steak & Burger Dinner taking place on May 2 at Clearview Baptist Church in Franklin, Tenn.
The Ed Moody Award of Excellence, a new annual honor from the Board of Directors for the Williamson County Boys & Girls Clubs, recognizes an individual who has made a lasting impact with the Franklin and Fairview Boys & Girls Clubs and the Williamson County community.
“As one of our most beloved, enduring and valuable community members, Mr. Moody was a beacon of hope for not only our Boys & Girls Clubs kids but all kids,” said Brown Daniel, Williamson County advisory board chairman. “From helping to start the Franklin Boys & Girls Clubs to serving on the Boards of the YMCA and Franklin Special School District, Ed Moody was a champion for kids.”
“This year’s award recipient not only embodies the qualifications set forth for the Ed Moody Award of Excellence but lives them every day. Mr. Ron Crutcher is respected businessman and community leader. From serving on the Boys & Girls Clubs Life Board to the Franklin Rotary, Mr. Crutcher gives back every single day. There is no man more deserving of this award,” said Denise Carothers, Williamson County area vice president.”
Boys & Girls Clubs relies on the involvement and dedication of caring and compassionate community leaders to help them make a long-lasting impact on the lives of kids aged five to 18. While some strive to continuously update their model, Boys & Girls Clubs again has separated itself by staying true to its roots, focusing on local Clubs, utilizing community and business leaders as mentors and positioning itself as one of the leaders in youth programming for the 19th consecutive year.

The 24th annual Steak & Burger Dinner will be held on Thursday, May 2, at Clearview Baptist Church. This year’s event will feature multiple Dove & Emmy award winning artist Michael W. Smith, involvement by Boys & Girls Clubs kids, and the inaugural presentation of the Ed Moody Award of Excellence.
