Bruce Bruce, born Bruce Church from Atlanta, Georgia, is one of this nation’s favorite stand-up comedians. He’s also an actor. He grew up in one of the city’s roughest ghettos ‘the Bluff.’ He hosted BET’s ComicView for two seasons and has appeared in various stand-up comedy specials and television series. He’s also been a spokesman for Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuits. In addition to stand-up comedy, film and TV, Bruce Bruce can also add author to his list of credits. In 2005, Bruce released his first book Baby James Brown from Penguin Publishing. Within these pages you will find hilarious stories from his childhood and learn more about what makes Bruce Bruce one of the most popular comedians in the business today.

On the feature film front, Bruce made a cameo in the HBO Films feature Idlewild and appeared in Larry the Cable Guy. He also appeared in the comedy Who’s Your Caddy as ‘Golf Ball Eddie.’ He’s made appearances in numerous music videos as well. When not performing in comedy clubs across the country, Bruce divides his time between his homes in Atlanta and Los Angeles. He is extremely dedicated to his incredible car collection, which includes two Harley Davidson trucks and four Buick muscle cars, among others. Bruce also designs clothing. A dapper dresser, Bruce creates his own wardrobe—from his suits to his shoes.

Bruce Bruce is a name synonymous with keeping audiences rolling with laughter thanks to his captivating improv skills and larger than life comedic style. Bruce’s steady style of comedy has been showcased across the country and he has been entertaining audiences young and old, of all backgrounds, for years. His wit, spontaneity and dazzling personality set him apart from other comedians. Although Bruce is known for his adult comedy, he prides himself on not using vulgarity to win a laugh. He is no stranger in winning over new audiences with every appearance he makes. He just doesn’t believe a comedian has to be risqué to be funny. He’s clearly a comedian that has found his mark in the business.

Bruce, who is sometimes referred to as the ‘mayor of comedy,’ cites Milton Berle, Rodney Dangerfield, Flip Wilson and Cedric the Entertainer among his personal favorites. Describing his own style as ‘old-school’ comedy, Bruce’s over-the-top style and honest humor have earned him countless fans.
Bruce will hit the Music City once again, beginning this Thursday night, with an extended stay at Zanies. This comedy stint will continue throughout the weekend, with the last show taking place Sunday night. If you’re looking to fall out of your seat, drooling all over yourself in the process, get there!
