The East Fork Women’s Fall Spiritual Festival met on Sunday evening, November 6, for their Annual Day at Rockland Baptist Church. Bishop Willie Joy and the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church were honored guests.
There were several churches represented for the East Fork Association. Holding this Fall Festival is an effort to continue support of church missions.

“The money is used for our outreach, which helped build a church in Kenya,” said Dr. Eleanor Cartwright-Muirhead, president and organizer of this Fall Spiritual Festival. “A mission ain’t a mission if you don’t keep it moving.”

Bishop Joy’s mission asked, ‘What Does God Require of Us?”

“We don’t come to condemn, we come to give information. It’s not about condemnation, it’s about information,” Bishop Joy reminded listeners.

He said that the word of God must be taken outside of the four walls of the churches. With a plea to the audience to “make an impact,” listeners were summoned to not only receive words for inspiration but to receive revelation that would change their lives.

“The devil is not afraid of our ‘shout,’ but he is afraid of our knowledge of God’s Word,” the Bishop said in his message was of inspiration and revival. “Let’s have a revival! Let’s have a revival of our hearts, a revival of our minds! In that revival one should do the work God has assigned of each person individually.”

It was a great evening as the Mt. Vernon Choir sang with great fervor delivering their message in song.

Other participants on the program included Ms. Thelma Manning, who served as the emcee for the evening; Rev. Martha Lang; Betty Baxter; Beverly Staten; Bobbie Harris; Rev. James L. Darden, Jr., moderator of the East Fork Association; and Rev. Robert E. Bell.

Rockland Baptist Church is located in Old Hickory, Tenn. and Rev. Leslie Statton is the pastor and served as host pastor of the Fall Spiritual Festival.
