The men of Mt. Lebanon Church are celebrating men with activities that will lead to a special Men’s Day on June 25. Mt. Lebanon, located at 222 Franklin Limestone Rd., is the location for several activities.

As the men celebrate this year, the array of activities is representative of the chosen theme, ‘The Evidence of Men Serving God.’

The New Jackson Spiritual Travelers, Inc. kicked off the celebration as they were the special guests at an afternoon ‘gospel singing’ on June 17.

“In spite of the rain, we had a ‘high’ time,” said Rev. James J. Green, pastor of Mt. Lebanon.

The men of Mt. Lebanon are continuing their celebration with a Men’s Prayer Breakfast on June 24 at 8:30 am. The public is invited to share in this breakfast including a great spread of food, a word through prayers from visiting ministers for guests in the community and members of the church.

On the same day beginning at 11 am, the men will remain at the church as they host the Men’s Fish Fry until 5 pm.

“If you can’t make it to breakfast, the fish is hot and fresh,” said coordinators.

The celebration will culminate with the Sunday morning worship service, June 25, duly noted as Men’s Day. Special guest speaker for Men’s Day will be Bishop William (Billy) Walker, Ministers In Training (MIT) from Mt. Zion MBC under the leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Walker III.

Bishop Billy Walker was born and reared in Pontiac, Michigan. Through life’s movements, he studied at the American Baptist College years prior to returning to Nashville by way of California, Cleveland and other states. He continues to travel, preaching and sharing God’s word as he is pursuing a Masters in Arts in Theology degree form Trevecca Nazarene University.

The members of Mt. Lebanon will continue their praise and ‘evidence’ of serving God as the following week of June 26-29 will host Vacation Bible School.
