Jackson Street M.B.C. celebrates 109 years

Members, family and friends will gather to celebrate Jackson Street Missionary Baptist Church (JSMBC) for their 109th Homecoming Anniversary on June 25. This celebration will take place during the 11 am morning worship service.

The church chose the theme ‘Praise God for 109 Years of Bountiful and Continuous Blessings,’ which was taken from II Corinthians 9:7. A past member of the church was asked to return as the guest speaker, Rev. Anthony Paschall, pastor of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Tenn. Rev. Paschall will give the message concerning the theme.

The members at Jackson Street believe that God is leading them to change their attitudes to one that erases all negativity. It is said that they are being led to an attitude where “failure is not an option, mediocrity is unacceptable, and the spirit of excellence is our standard.”

The mission at Jackson Street states: “We are a body of baptized believers striving to make a difference in an uncaring and unfriendly world. Our mission is to win more disciples and develop better Christians to the glory of God by utilizing the powers that work in us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Our total commitment is to the salvation of every man, woman, boy, and girl who has not established a relationship with Christ through teaching and preaching the Gospel as it is written.”

“The church extends a warm invite to the entire community for a glorious celebration of this historical event and a heartfelt worship experience,” said Homecoming coordinators.

JSMBC is located at 1209 Jackson Street under the leadership of Rev. Robert Leon Pearson where he says: “God has called me to rise up a holy standard for the entire world to see.”
