For many years, Marketing & Communications Executive John Smith (John Smith Marketing/JSM) has been the cultivator and promoter of quality entertainment, for people of all ages.

This year, Nashville will mark the fifth year of the Old School BBQ which will follow the 20th anniversary of the John Merritt Classic.

Smith encourages everyone to finish the summer the right way by enjoying the John Merritt Classic on September 1st, then “partying with us one day after at Riverfront Park in Downtown Nashville for the 5th Annual Old School BBQ Festival.”

The state’s capitol city, also known as “Music City USA,” will shine and mark the last summer holiday of the season. It all goes down on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Nashville’s Riverfront Park. The event opens at 2:00 p.m., with safe, fun entertainment and festival fanfare continuing throughout the day.

The 5th Annual Labor Day Old School BBQ Festival is an inviting and multi-faceted, exciting event which highlights the aroma of traditional BBQ cooking in the air while bringing families and friends together in an outdoor social setting.

This festival takes place one day after the noted, world famous John Merritt Classic football game held at Nissan Stadium.

The event concert entertainment lineup includes a myriad of seasoned performers ready to have the crowd dance, cheer and croon the night away. Acts like: AFTER 7, Avant, Keke Wyatt, Lakeside, Charles Jones, EU (Da Butt) MR. C. (Cha Cha Slide), Lil Keke and “Southside” are all timeless entertainers in their own right.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the “Pass the Beauty” an organization against domestic violence.

JSM suggests that attendees bring their own lawn chairs and a hearty appetite for the BBQ and other foods that will be on sale.

“This year’s 5th Labor Day Annual Old School BBQ Festival promises to light up Nashville, TN for residents and those in attendance from across the nation,” said Smith.
