Neighbor 2 Neighbor brings Empower Tennessee Fun Zone to this year’s Good Neighbor Day Festival

The Empower Tennessee Fun Zone is coming to this year’s Good Neighbor Day Festival.

This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, September 28, at the Southeast Community Center in Antioch. Nonprofit partner, Lighthouse Christian School, is coordinating the Empower Tennessee Fun Zone at this year’s festival.

The annual festival takes place each year and is sponsored by Neighbor 2 Neighbor, formerly known as the Neighborhoods Resource Center. Since 1997, the group has equipped residents and neighborhood organizations with the tools they need to effectively lead and build safer, more vibrant neighborhoods.

“We envision a city of connected communities where residents know their neighbors and work together to preserve and improve their neighborhoods,” said group representatives. “Great neighborhoods don’t happen by accident.”

Activities at the Empower Tennessee Fun Zone include face painting, a bounce house, ‘corn-hole,’ as well as arts and crafts. Additionally, Daniel Tiger from the hit PBS television show, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will be meeting festival attendees at the Fun Zone.

“The Empower Tennessee Fun Zone is going to be amazing,” said Jim Hawk, executive director of Neighbor 2 Neighbor. “We’ve got bounce houses, face painters, street hockey, a huge video game truck and that’s just the beginning. This will be a great day for you and your kids—and it’s all free!”

RVG Nashville will have a 32 ft. mobile video gaming theater onsite with the latest video games from the Nintendo Wii, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii U. The Ford Ice Center will also be offering free street hockey. There will also be a public skate from 1:15-2:45 pm. The cost for rental skates is $3 and admission is $7.50.

The festival is made possible thanks to our sponsors HCA Healthcare, TriStar Health, Empower Tennessee, 1440 Fitness, Piedmont Natural Gas, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Futureshirts, Metro Nashville Public Schools, United Healthcare, Vanderbilt University, Gaston and Murrell Family Dentistry, JLL, Lighthouse Christian School and Nashville Public Television.
