Fairfield M. B. Church conducts Parade of Praise for seniors

Fairfield M.B. Church members participate in Parade of Praise.

Fairfield M.B. Church members bring love to seniors with a Parade of Praise. The church recently visited senior members of the congregation, who have practicing social distance during COVID-19.

The Parade of Praise began April 24. Visits include some nursing homes and senior living facilities, especially Trevecca and streets throughout the city where many members live.

Rev. Howard Jones, senior pastor, said: “It is important to us to reach out to our members, especially the seniors and sick & shut-in to let us see each other beyond a phone call or other electronic devices.”

Many seniors are not on Facebook or other social media platforms to hear the services remotely, so the church membership feels it is important to connect in a time of social distance and isolation.

“We want to share the love in any way we can,” said Rev. Jones.
