Sometimes facial expressions tell the story and sometimes they don’t. The question sometimes arises asking: “Is joy the same as happiness?” While there may not be a definite answer, the Christian theory is that they are not one in the same. ‘Happiness’ may be described as something that brings joy with the purchase of something new or experiencing something of excitement. While ‘joy’ might be described as something feeling like an inner happiness throughout all circumstances. No one can measure another person’s joy or happiness.
Knowing that Rev. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer for quite some time, one may wonder how happy he is. Seeing him posting pictures seems to demonstrate that he is having a wonderful and happy time at each event of a celebratory status. When he is seen taking pictures with individuals all around the city, Rev. Fuzz seems to be the reflection of happiness. He may be in discomfort, but he is able to work with the public and create lasting and joyous memories with those individuals. Indeed, joy brings happiness to his life as he remains able to attend those events.
When he returns home to receive oxygen if needed, take medications for pain, or simply to rest, his day’s work is always done with a smile. Rev. Fuzz is able to be happy and show happiness, being filled with the joy of doing the ministry God commanded him to do. He takes care not to ‘overdo’ when the tasks sometimes seem insurmountable. He answers to issues for the city or for individuals when his assistance is needed. During those times, he must quickly assess his health at that precise time. If there is something that he can do to help through the multiple and extensive use of his telephone, Rev. Fuzz is on it. He often commits to volumes of work that can be accomplished by the use of his small hand-held device that was previously used for only making phone calls.
Rev. Fuzz is grateful for his phone, since it can be used to make contacts as well as share interactions through the use of pictures, information and videos.
It should also be mentioned that Rev. Fuzz is still working with OneNashville Community Awareness, which will be holding a meeting on Saturday, March 18,at Corinthian Baptist Church, 819 33rd Ave. N. The public is invited to attend at 8 am for information on urgent issues and solutions for the city of Nashville.
