The Frist Art Museum is hosting a Frist Arts Fest, and two major pop-up art events will take over the It City next weekend. Clarence Edward presents a full weekend of amazing art and The Untitled Artist Group returns with another amazing group show.
Cë Gallery, honored as Nashville’s Best Art Gallery in 2022 and 2023, will temporarily convert The Forge, a warehouse space at 217 Willow Street, into a contemporary and fine arts gallery + immersive experience March 22 – 24.
In “Murmuration – ‘A Flight through the Configuration of Blackness,’ embark on a visual journey exploring the profound beauty and significance of the color black within the realm of artistic expression. The space amplifies the impact of each artwork, creating a dialogue between the raw industrial setting and the refined aesthetics of fine art. This juxtaposition fosters a unique viewing experience, encouraging visitors to explore the intersections of art, space, and community.
The exhibition curated by Gallerist Clarence Edward, featuring works from both emerging talents and established artists, captures the essence of the ever-evolving artistic landscape. From avant-garde installations to timeless fine art, the exhibition promises an exploration of perspective that resonates with the vibrancy of Nashville’s artistic spirit.
Show hours are 12 Noon – 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12 Noon – 6;00 p.m. on Sunday. The Untitled Artist Group has presented “uncensored art for unlimited audiences” for Nashville art aficionados for decades at various locations around Music City. Their upcoming show at 503 Ligon Street, Suite A, in Berry Hill, Nashville 37204 runs from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Established in 1991, Untitled Artist Group is a non-profit collective dedicated to supporting artistic innovation and offering alternative visual arts experiences in the Nashville community. Untitled artists work democratically and cooperatively outside the traditionally conservative gallery scene. Untitled seeks new, non-traditional venues for each show to bring art to new spaces and new audiences.
The group also convenes weekly networking and organizational meetings each Wednesday that provide an opportunity for artists to meet, share ideas, and support each other in an open and casual environment. Untitled includes artists in all media and at all levels, from those who have never shown their work in public to some of Nashville’s best-known painters, printmakers, photographers and sculptors.
The Frist Arts Fest, Sunday, March 24, 1:00–5:30 p.m. is fun for the whole family, filled with performances, art making, music, and more celebrating the exhibitions Southern/Modern, Monuments and Myths: The America of Sculptors Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Daniel Chester French, Carving a New Tradition: The Art of LaToya M. Hobbs, and The Power of Resilience. The event is Free for members and guests ages 18 and younger, and only $15 for adults, which includes gallery admission.
