TSU Alumni Coming Home Weekend Events April 12 -16

Kenneth “Cheyenne” Joyce will be inducted into the TSU Hall of Fame on April 12th. 

Once again, Tennessee State University is a school so cool they have to have TWO Homecomings, more or less. TSU Alumni come back to celebrate, with football games and parties, in the fall and in the spring. Here’s a look at some of this year’s very special festivities in April.

TSU Athletic Hall of Fame Induction, Friday, April 12.

The Tennessee State athletic department 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame Class includes 25 inductees representing 12 different sports. This marks the first HOF ceremony since 10 were inducted in 2010. The inductees will be honored during a formal ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1000 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, on April 12. Salute to Excellence Honoring Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover, Saturday, April 13

The Salute to Excellence Celebration Gala in honor or retiring TSU President Dr. Glenda Glover will be held in the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1000 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Radio personality Rickey Smiley and American lawyer and journalist Star Jones will be the Mister and Mistress of Ceremonies. You will not want to miss this star-studded celebration in downtown Nashville. Contact the Tennessee State University Office of Alumni Relations for tickets.

Women of Legend and Merit Awards Dinner, Tuesday, April 16

This signature event, hosted by TSU, the Women’s Center, and the Nashville community, is a unique opportunity to showcase phenomenal female role models and leaders on the TSU Campus, Tuesday, April 16, 7 – 9pm CDT. This year, the TSU Women’s Center salutes six dynamic women who exemplify excellence in their professional domains: Dr. Adrienne Battle: Education; Ms. Vonda Daniels: Business; Senator Charlane Oliver: Government; Mrs. Sharon Roberson: Leadership; Dr. Sondrea Tolbert: Religion; and Dr. Carolyn Baldwin Tucker: Woman of Strength, Courage, & Commitment. The keynote speaker for the evening is Sophia A. Nelson, Esq., an award-winning author, journalist, and international inspirational speaker. All proceeds go towards supporting the Women’s Center in providing a safe, diverse environment that enhances the lives and working conditions of women at TSU and beyond.
