MADISON, Tenn. — A Madison bridge will soon bear the name of the late state Rep. Carson ‘Bill’ Beck, honoring the longtime Nashville lawmaker and community advocate who died in 2023 at age 61.

The Gallatin Pike bridge over Briley Parkway will be named the “Representative Carson W. ‘Bill’ Beck Memorial Bridge.” Metro Council previously supported naming the bridge in Beck’s honor.

Beck represented Tennessee House District 51 from 2015 until his death in 2023. His district included Madison, Old Hickory and portions of East Nashville and downtown. He was also an attorney and active member of the Madison community.

A public ceremony unveiling the new bridge sign will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 am at Amqui Station and Visitors Center, 303 Madison St. Family members, elected officials and community leaders are expected to gather to celebrate Beck’s life and legacy.

Beck was remembered following his death as a dedicated public servant who developed friendships across political lines and was known for his humor and commitment to Nashville.
