Early Voting Special
A letter from Davidson County Chancery Court candidate, Scott Tift

Scott Tift

To the readership of Nashville PRIDE, My name is Scott Tift, and I am writing to ask for your vote for Davidson County Chancery Court judge on May 1, or during early voting (from today through April 26).

For most of the past decade, I have represented people in civil rights cases at the law firm founded by George “Citizen” Barrett. In my daily work, I represent people who have been denied the right to vote, the right to free speech, the right to be work in a workplace free from discrimination, and the right to be paid for work performed. I also regularly represent labor unions, and their members, in all sorts of employment-related matters.

Outside of work, I am the Chair of the Board of Conexion Americas, which seeks through its work to make Nashville a more welcoming, fair, and equitable place for all Nashvillians. My wife, Nesrin, and I have two young sons, Isaac (age 6) and Arthur (age 4). Prior to becoming a lawyer, I worked for former president Bill Clinton and then for the presidential campaign of Howard Dean.

I am running for Davidson County Chancery Court because I believe that my experience representing people in civil rights litigation makes me well-prepared to preside over a court where all parties are treated fairly, compassionately, and respectfully, regardless of their resources, their standing in the community, or their reputation.

I hope to earn your vote. If you would like to learn more, please check out our website at www.tiftforjudge.com or call me at (615) 636-2495.

Best,
Scott
