“For I consider that the suffering of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us,” Romans 8:18 (KJV).
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later,” Romans 8:18 (New Century Version).
Paul is releasing a word that says the suffering of this present time [world] isn’t worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. The blessings of the Lord that are to come will be much greater than the burden of this present time [life]. When you have faith in God, it gives you the ability to endure suffering. Suffering spiritually is a holistic assessment that will help you endure physical conflict with palliative care. We are not alone in this suffering, hurt, the feeling of pain, hardship, distress, and misery. Because we have Jesus Christ (who is our hope and our faith) is in Him. So if you are struggling with everyday life, if your life seems devoid of hope and purpose and you feel like giving up, please hang on. I have been there in my life and if I managed to pull myself out of darkness by having hope in Jesus Christ. I know that you can do it too.
“For the creation waits eagerly longing for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God,” Romans 8:19.
This is why in the future time that is to come, God will reveal who His sons and daughters are—and all nature is eagerly looking for this revealing from God to see who we are.
“All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is extended to you will be given to more people and thanksgiving will overflow, to the glory of God. This is all things, not some, but all things are for you. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For our light afflictions, which are but for a moment, are working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal,” 2 Corinthians 4:15-17.
We must be encouraged as believers to focus on things that are eternal, rather than things that are temporary. The thing of this world can and will be gone tomorrow, but the things that you cannot see will last forever. Things will come into your life for a season in the physical world, but in God it will last forever. It is a weight of glory that is beyond all comparison. This is God; and therefore, in God it will get better. We must take on a paradigm (or fundamental) shift in our theological interpretation, so we can have a psychological understanding of what is being said and why it’s being said.
