The youth of New Livingstone Church, 330 Hancock Street, were responsible for carrying out the morning worship services on Sunday, April 27. The youth refer to themselves as ‘The Newstone Generation.’
The morning worship service was carried out with special musical guest Virtue N Praise who also delivered the ministry in praise through dance.
The word was delivered to the Newstone Generation and congregation by guest messenger, Minister Nicholas Oldham—who spoke on the subject of relationships and the importance of taking the time to study sharing yourself with others through friendship, love and sex.
Minister Oldham used a variety of visual examples to illustrate his message.
“It is important that you know that when you share yourself with someone. You take a piece of that person with you for life and they also take a piece of you with them, leaving a hole in you,” he said. “Most relationships begin with two people full of holes get together trying to fill their holes with the other person who is also full of holes and it makes for problems for the relationship.”
The day’s message referred to 1 Timothy 4:7-12: “But refuse profane and old wives’ fables and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profitieth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that is now, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all exception. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of those that believe. These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Sister Miesha Wilson was the morning worship leader. Other youth leaders from the Newstone Generation assisting in carrying out the morning worship service included: Walt Moore, Jimmie Hart, Kourtney Thompson, Jr., ushers; and Jr. deacon Zaishaun Cunningham. Those listed under the associate ministries, Youth Department included: Stacy Bradford, Shalisa Council; Keith Brooks, and Evangelist Letha Mock in Christian Education; Carolyn Buckner in Health and Social Services; Deborah Moore and Deborah Moore in Evangelism; Xavier Patterson, worship; David Shute, Outreach and Scott Wallace, Administration.
New Livingstone Church is located at 330 Hancock Street under the leadership of the senior pastor Ronnie Mitchell. Sunday morning services are held at 10 am with the exception of fifth Sundays, which begin at 8 am.
