After months of strategic planning, award winning Yes Lord Radio (YLR) has officially announced plans for its highly anticipated Sixth Year Anniversary Celebration. YLR begins their new year of 2016 with an incredible artist showcase, honoring their six-year mark in the gospel music industry on January 30 in Nashville.
It was January of 2010 that the Lord instructed two entrepreneurs and business partners, Howard Young III and Rodrick J. Warren, to launch YLR. At that time, neither of them had any idea what the future would bring.
YLR supporters can expect the Anniversary Celebration to be a night of radical worship and high praise. The Anniversary Celebration takes place on Saturday, January 30, at 6 pm, CDT, as Yes Lord Radio presents C.L.U.B. YLR (Christians Living Under the Blood Yes Lord Radio) at The Fortress Church, located at 1419 Clinton Street in Nashville.
Celebrity hosts Michelle Prather and Dr. Kevin Bond and other YLR show hosts, will share hosting duties. Special guests include: Grammy award winner Myron Butler; Stellar award winner DeWayne Woods; noted choirmaster Professor James Hall; master lyricist Pettidee; and rising gospel sensation Jessica Love. The party continues with hype performances from Deitrick Haddon’s LXW Choir of Chicago; Vincent Tharpe and Kenosis; Tyler Litte; and T-Ran—all anointed by God and back by popular demand. It just gets better with this mega event as the YLR Celebration Choir is lead by Nate Bean, another industry favorite.
The anniversary showcase will also serve as the official CD Release Party for Professor Hall’s latest project, ‘New Era.’ Renowned comediennes Willie Ruth Johnson and Hattie Maye will also add their side splitting humor to the mix for what promises to be the best YLR event to date.
Over the years, YLR has won numerous awards, including: the Stellar Award for Best Internet Gospel Radio Station in 2011 and 2014. It has also built a base of over five million listeners worldwide. The popular medium has over 80 ambassadors representing the station all over the globe. In 2015, the station experienced another a year of incredible favor, having been nominated for a fifth consecutive year as Internet Radio Station of the Year by the Stellar Awards and by being invited to cover major events including the 14th annual
‘I Hear Music In the Air’ conference with the award winning Donnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton; T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest, the Essence Music Festival; and by being selected once again as an official GMA Dove Awards Media Partner. YLR began as a small Christian e-newsletter that featured gospel entertainment news, inspirational word, and healthy living tips. As the technology for Internet radio evolved, the first channel (YLR Gospel Hits) was broadcast to hundreds of listeners in the southeastern United States. Today, YLR is a multiple award winning radio station that features four channels that include YLR Gospel Hits, YLR Hype, YLR Gold and YLR Grand.
