‘Writers in Treatment’ provides versatile prospective on recovery

Founded by Leonard Buschel, ‘Writers in Treatment’ helps men and women in the writing industry suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction and other self-destructive behaviors find treatment sources for their disease.

The organization produces the Reel Recovery Film Festival & Symposium, a multi-day event showcasing honest films about addiction, alcoholism, behavioral disorders, treatment and recovery.

Writers In Treatment (WIT) supports recovery and the arts and offers those in recovery a myriad of valuable resources. For example, WIT offers free referrals for individuals suffering from alcoholism or addiction.

They publish the weekly ‘Addiction/Recovery e-Bulletin’ and utilize many quality resources and have an expansive team of individuals in recovery. They are avid supporters of the recovery process and community at large. The weekly e-Bulletin alone provides a spread of basic and unique information about the recovery community.

Article topics cover practically everything from what is happening with Hollywood celebrities, to the latest pharmaceutical products, warnings and more. The e-Bulletin holds a wealth of information, and whereas some serious topics are covered, readers can look forward to humor and lighter fare as well.

WIT assists not only the recovering person but also their families and supporters on that journey back to the restoration of life…just one of many recovery resources available. It is indeed a phenomenal entity. Addiction is no respecter of person, academic, social, financial, religion or racial diversity, and neither should recovery be. This is another key area in life where ‘it literally takes a village’ to maximize this area of potential and greatness.
