The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville will present their 4th annual Periscope Pitch Event on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. This live crowdfunding event is intended to get collectors, critics and community members invested in Nashville’s artists and this year is open to the general public — that means you!

After six weeks of intensive training and three months of one-on-one mentorship, a select group of artists will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork and business plan with community patrons while competing for prizes at the Periscope Pitch event. The event is the culmination of the Arts & Business Council’s Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program.

The Periscope program provides a cohort of high-level artists with the tools they need to see their artistic vision through an entrepreneurial lens. Periscope was designed to help bridge the real-world gap between passion and profession, and participants strive to take their artistic practices to the next level.

This year’s artist-entrepreneurs will put their training to the test during the Periscope Pitch. An all-star panel of judges will provide insights along the way, and attendees can participate in live voting to help determine which artists will walk away with cash prizes. Twenty-dollar tickets will be available in advance and at the door with all proceeds going directly to the artists.

The Arts and Business Council created and delivers the Periscope program with these key partners: The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (training and host partner); Metro Nashville Arts Commission (artist mentorship partner); Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce (promotional partner); the Mayor’s Office of Economic & Community Development; and Southwest Airlines (opportunity partners).
