The Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky have announced the appointment of Peter Woolfolk, the 2017/18 board chairman, to the Council of Better Business Bureau’s board of directors, effective immediately. The Council is the national governing body of Better Business Bureaus. Woolfolk will fulfill a three-year term, where he will provide strategic direction for the future of BBBs around the nation.
Since becoming a BBB member in 2008, Woolfolk has held numerous leadership positions within the organization. Currently, he leads the executive committee and was corporate treasurer for two years.
He has also chaired the Student of Integrity Scholarship Awards program, BBB’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner, and the Torch Awards for Ethical Commerce for two years.
“Peter is an accomplished business leader and an experienced board member in both the public and nonprofit sectors, said Robyn Householder, president/ CEO, BBB Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. “His appointment uniquely positions BBB serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky to play a part in the future of our organization and have a voice in how BBB moves forward nationally.”
On being advised on the selection Woolfolk said: “I am very pleased to be in a position to participate in the strategic growth and development of the Better Business Bureau around the nation.”
Woolfolk has over 25 years of experience in public relations, public affairs, and media production. Currently, he serves as the president of communications strategies, a full-service marketing communications and public relations agency with clients in the private, non-profit and government sectors
Previously, Woolfolk worked as special assistant/communications to the Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Education during Bill Clinton’s administration. There he managed communications, served as national and local media liaison and produced and hosted two award-winning national television satellite programs. Prior to that, Woolfolk also worked five years as senior press secretary for three members of Congress including the including the former chairman of the US House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and Labor.
