Retired Tennessee Titan, Eddie George, surprised football players and coaches at East Nashville Magnet High School on Sept. 12 with new football equipment and a donation of $10,000. George, a former running back with the Tennessee Titans for seven seasons, partnered with the NFL team and Campbell’s Chunky Soup, to give the students with new equipment.

“Since you guys have put in the hard work and time, and have proven yourselves with a 3-0 record, we are happy to present you with some much-needed equipment and other surprises,” George said, revealing the new equipment to screams from the students and coaches.

The new gear included new helmets and football pads. The Tennessee Titans also presented East’s head football coach Brian Waite with a $10,000 check to be used for the school’s football program. In addition, East Nashville Magnet High players received tickets to the Sept. 15 Titans game against the Indianapolis Colts.

“The words of encouragement that Eddie George gave really added to the confidence of our students,” said Dr. Jamie Jenkins, principal of East Nashville Magnet High School. “We always appreciate the community supporting us, and to have the Titans and Campbell’s provide these donations is highly motivating to our entire student body.”
