Expressions of faith: Responsive presence

First Lady Brandy Lee

“Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made,” John 1:3.

There are times when my body craves to be in the presence of nature. For a while I did not realize the magnitude of why. Nature is the very representation of life. Little did I know, that the more I embraced and appreciated the time in nature to discover and admire its beauty, I was experiencing God’s divine nature.

We must understand that in a world that is constantly changing and troubled, there is something that never changes the presence of an almighty God. God is omnipresent, which means God is everywhere. It is our responsibility and choice to allow God to abide within us. It becomes so easy to become distracted with the daily challenges of life, that we rarely take the time to embrace the beauty and presence of God. This is the great beauty that is exemplified here on earth. This Glory is achieved in our Lives—His beauty, His creations, Nature, and Miracles. It is the true divine act and being of God.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse,” Romans 1:20. We must see and acknowledge the very Glory of God, because the evidence is in front of us every day.

As Christians, we must embrace God’s beauty in all that we do. Having the very patience and consciousness to acknowledge His presence will shift our spiritual person to such a higher dimension. God is a jealous God and wants our attention as much as possible. Even during times such as these where we are faced with turmoil on every side, God wants us to embrace His promise. “Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you. Therefore, we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6.

Imagine if we were all conscious of His presence, God would inhabit so many more people. His Glory and divine presence are contagious. Think about a time when you decided to hold the door open for someone walking into a store, and then it created a chain reaction for everyone behind you to do the same. When we all decide to acknowledge and abide in His divine nature in all that we do, the very people in your surroundings will be influenced with God’s glory. Let’s illuminate the earth with God and watch just how much our world changes.

“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory,” Romans 15:5-7.
