Expressions of faith
Think(part 2)

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

Mortify [put to death] what belongs to your earthly nature, you members of evil desires.

  • Sexual sin [immorality or fornication]
  • Impurity [uncleanness]
  • Lust [inordinate affection]
  • Evil desire [concupiscence]
  • Greed which is idolatry [covetousness]

We have to cut them off just like cutting off limbs of a tree. They must be cut off before they destroy us. We must make a conscious, daily decision to remove anything that supports or feeds the desires of anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, or lying one to another.

These things evoke the wrath [extreme anger] of God. These things are a set up and trick of the enemy. The enemy wants you to do these things so that the anger of God will come upon the children of disobedience—so you will turn from God. This is a set up!

People, don’t let the enemy play with your mind. Stop and think first before you do or say anything. Say to yourselves today, I will not by tricked again by the enemy. He wants you to mess up by being dirty. He wants to make a mess of your life, misdirect you, ruin you, make a wreck of your life.    He wants to spoil you to where you stink.

Remember, as Christian’s you are Christ’s seed and Christ lives within you. He can shape you into what you should be.

You have died once; you don’t have to die again.    Christ has given you power over the enemy to live for Him in your new life.

What you walked in before, don’t walk in anymore. You are renewed in the knowledge of God each day. People, you know how to think.

The games are over in your life! No more being played with by the adversary [the conflicted one]! This time around, I’m going to think.

No more tricks. You once walked in these things when you were living in sin [the old man], but now we have put away all ways of the flesh [the old you]. Now we have put on the new man, and we are being renewed [restarted, reopened, taken up again, beginning again] in knowledge according to the image of your creator [your God] that created Him [Christ Jesus].

The Christian life is a continual learning program. The more we know of Christ and His work, the more we are being changed to be like Him. The process of learning is lifelong, and we must never cease learning and obeying.

We must keep in line with the will of God. The Christian church has no barriers of nationality, race, education, social standing, wealth, religion, or power.

Christ breaks down all barriers and He accepts all people who come to Him. This is why nothing should keep us from telling others about Christ and His love for all believers.

“For Christ is our peace, who has made all one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us,” Ephesians 2:14.

This is why in Christ there is no Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free. Christ is all and in all.

As the born-again, we should be in the business of building bridges, not building walls.

Set your minds on things that are above [Christ], not on things that are of this world. Think!
