The dictionary describes ‘celebration’ as “marking one’s pleasure at an important event or occasion by engaging in enjoyable, typically social, activities.” When there is a life-changing event that is in the forefront of every aspect of one’s life, such as the diagnosis of stage four lung cancer for Rev. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, there is cause for many small celebrations at all times. While there are no parties connected to each of these medical hurdles, it is with great pleasure that Rev. Fuzz has recuperated from COVID-19, with notice of his healing being ahead of schedule.
This is great news, because Rev. Fuzz is also having annual celebrations coming up. On Sunday, October 1 at 11 am, the church will celebrate Rev. Enoch Fuzz’s 50 years of preaching and 42 years as pastor! This will be a very special ‘appreciation service’ celebrating a very special individual. Rev. Fuzz has spent these many years diligently serving in ministry with great dedication to his church, members, family and community. Following the morning worship and celebration service, the afternoon will kick off a big birthday celebration.
Rev. Fuzz will be celebrating his 67th birthday. At 1 p.m., family, members, friends, and the community are invited to join Rev. Fuzz and other civic and city leaders and officials for a big birthday celebration in the parking lot of his church at 819 33rd Ave. N. As with every birthday celebration, they will be dancing in the street while enjoying lots of good food, fun, and fellowship.
This entire day holds a theme, which Fuzz always references, ‘The best in the whole wide world.’
While Rev. Fuzz continues to experience pain and ailments along his journey, he said: “Life is full of pain, but today is a good day to live.” That’s what he does with every day filled with support and prayers because living makes each day a good day.
