The Tennessee Performing Arts Center has plenty of exciting events to entertain you coming soon. “Annie the Musical” closes out in late March, while “The Color Purple” rules April. And in the 2024/2025 Broadway at TPAC Season, there are quite a few spectacular plays to see.

“The Color Purple” is a stirring and soulful musical that tells the story of Celie, a young woman who endures years of abuse and hardship at the hands of the men in her life. Along the way, Celie forms close bonds with other women, including the vibrant and independent Shug Avery and the strong and fierce Sofia. Through the power of sisterhood and self-discovery, Celie finds her voice and breaks free from the chains of oppression.

“Peter Pan”, Jan. 7-12, 2025, is a new adaptation of the high-flying musical featuring the timeless songs you know and love. “& Juliet”, Feb. 11-16, 2025 flips the script on “Romeo and Juliet” with a playlist of pop anthems including “Since U Been Gone,” “Baby One More Time,” and “Larger Than Life.” Embark on a journey to a sun-kissed island paradise for “Mamma Mia!”, March 18-23, 2025, a story of love, friendship, and identity told through the hits of ABBA. In “Kimberly Akimbo”, April 8-13, 2025, watch Kimberly navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush … and possible felony charges in this “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show.”
