Locally, Nashville Earth Day returns to Centennial Park on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11 AM to 5 PM. Nashville Earth Day is presented by Centennial Park Conservancy, in partnership with Urban Green Lab and support from Metro Parks Nashville. The event is underwritten by many generous sponsors.
This free family event brings the Nashville community together to celebrate our planet, inspire positive environmental change, and support sustainable small businesses & nonprofits. Enjoy Live Demonstrations & Speakers, Live Music, Children’s Activities from Kidsville, Food Vendors, Local Artisans, and Informational Booths.
Savor the tastes of delicious food provided by local vendors along with craft beer, wine, and cocktails, water and juice options. Make a passport sketchbook or nature sculpture, see a puppet show (12:15 and 3 p.m.), and participate in the Kidsville parade at 3:45 p.m. Get hands-on experience with a variety of Electric Vehicles on the market and take a ride-along between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Nashville Tree Foundation with sponsorship from Amazon will distribute 850 trees at the event, on a first come first serve basis. Explore over 75 recycled, reused, up-cycled, organic, and all natural products and offerings from sustainable local growers & makers, nonprofits, small businesses, and agencies.
Small World Yoga offers a free 45 minute yoga class (for all levels) at 11:30 a.m. at the BandShell. Enjoy live music throughout the day with performances by local artists. In the EarthTalks Tent, a diverse lineup of local experts will speak roughly every 30 minutes on a variety of environmental issues, including home composting, sustainable cooking, gardening, recycling, and more.
Since 2020, over $100,000 in proceeds from Nashville Earth Day, the city’s official annual event to celebrate Earth Day, have been used to underwrite local environmental projects via a grant program primarily focused on bees, trees, water, pollinator gardens, sustainability, and education.
Attendees are encouraged to bike to the event. Attendees can also take the bus to Centennial Park via the Metro Transit Authority bus routes from West End #3, Charlotte #10 or the University Connector #21.
