Nashville Celebrates Earth Day Saturday, April 19

Nashville’s Earth Day Festival on April 19th offers family-friendly activities, live music, educational booths, and free tree giveaways. Earth Day In the Hood celebrates marginalized communities with eco-focused arts, food, and fundraising.

The Nashville Earth Day Festival returns to the Centennial Park Bandshell on Saturday, April 19. This free, annual, family-friendly event, is open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm. bringing the Nashville community together to celebrate our planet, inspire positive environmental change, and support sustainable small businesses & nonprofits.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG (formerly Earth Day Network), including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. Because April 22 falls on a Tuesday, the celebrations are on the preceding Saturday.

Nashville’s Earth Day Festival will feature exhibits and hand-on activities aimed to educate locals about protecting the environment and living green. With over 75 family-friendly booths, hosted by community groups, environmental organizations, and government agencies, Nashville Earth Day will feature engaging & educational activities from a variety of exhibitors and vendors, including local growers & makers, nonprofits, sustainable small businesses, and state/metro government agencies.

Live music by local artists Jarren Blair at 12:30, Cane and Cancino at 1:15, Josh O’Keefe at 2:05, Kyshona at 3:00, and Erin Rae at 4:00. There will be yoga from Small World Yoga at 11:30, Kidsville activities, local food vendors, and craft beer. Plus, they’re giving away 1,250 free trees courtesy of the Nashville Tree Foundation. In partnership with TEDx Nashville, a diverse lineup of local experts will speak roughly every 20 minutes on a variety of environmental issues, including home composting, sustainable cooking, gardening, recycling, and more at the EarthTalks Tent.

Attendees can expect a dynamic lineup of activities, including engaging in upcycling arts and crafts, enjoying healthy food, and grooving to the beats of a talented hip-hop artist.

Earth Day In the Hood is Saturday, April 19, from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Nashville Public Library Pruitt Branch, located at 117 Charles E. Davis Blvd, Nashville, TN 37210. The event highlights the importance of unity, education, and advocacy for a sustainable future for all. Participation helps to uplift underserved voices while contributing to vital programs designed to nurture and empower the next generation.

This fundraiser serves a dual purpose: to raise funds for youth programs and initiatives that benefit underserved Nashville communities and to raise awareness about environmental issues these communities face.
