Guests can test their valor and show their skills at Cheekwood’s ‘Enchanted Castles’ immersive experience.

This summer, Cheekwood Estate & Gardens invites visitors to step into a storybook brought to life. From May 1 through August 31, the historic grounds will be transformed into a magical landscape with ‘Enchanted Castles at Cheekwood,’ an immersive experience designed for children and families to explore, imagine, and play.

Five unique, artist-crafted castles (each with a distinctive theme and interactive elements) have been nestled throughout the estate’s lush gardens. These whimsical structures are designed to engage the imagination, blending natural beauty with fairy-tale wonder. The event is expected to draw large crowds, and advance reservations for timed-entry tickets are required for all guests. Parking availability may be limited during peak times.

Organizers describe the event as “an exciting escape for families and dreamers alike,” where children are encouraged to climb, discover, and explore—though adult supervision is required at all times. By participating, guardians acknowledge all associated risks.

Each castle features a unique theme:

  • Dragon’s Den, sponsored by Mary and Larry Wieck, features a climbing wall, a glowing treasure trove, and fiery garden colors that evoke a mythical dragon’s lair.
  • Flower Fairy Palace, sponsored by The Mathman Family, delights the senses with spinning blooms, fragrant blossoms, and fairy magic dancing on the breeze.
  • Crow’s Nest, sponsored by The McCluggage Family, invites adventurers to scale a tower, swing beneath the trees, and spot birds through spyglasses high above the garden floor.
  • Wizard’s Watchtower, backed by the Bracken Foundation, leads guests through a mirrored maze and into a mystic world of stars, crystal balls, and overgrown vines hiding magical secrets.
  • Formidable Fortress, sponsored by The Monroe Family, challenges brave souls to cross a drawbridge guarded by alligators and claim their glory atop the sword throne.

Cheekwood’s ‘Enchanted Castles’ is more than a visual attraction. It’s a place where kids can be knights, wizards, and explorers, all while surrounded by the colors and textures of Tennessee summer. For those seeking an imaginative family outing, this event promises to be one of Nashville’s most enchanting summer experiences.
