Ghana Tourist Coach Radio (GTCR), organizers of the maiden edition of Miss Ghana Tourism USA pageant for Ghanaian beauties has revealed to TheAfricanDream.net that the second edition of the event will occur on October 8. Miss Ghana Tourism USA/GTCR made the revelation during an interview at their Alexandria, Virginia based offices in the United States.

Kwame Boakye Danquah, CEO of Miss Ghana Tourism USA/GTCR, said his organization set out to initiate this pageant for beauties as part of efforts to promote Ghana in North America while selling the country as an ideal tourist destination to people living in the USA and beyond.

“We had female contestants representing each of the 10 regions of Ghana and designed the pageant in such a way that sold the heritage and touristic attractions of these respective regions. All participating beauties in the maiden edition did excellently well in giving more information about their regions and how they hoped to be ambassadors of Ghanaian tourism to the U.S.A.,” said Kwame Boakye Danquah. “Our beauty pageant endorses the beauty of Ghanaian women hailing from all parts of Ghana that are resident in the U.S.A., while promoting Ghanaian tourism and lifestyle.”

Women of Ghanaian lineage between the ages of 18-28 presently in the U.S.A. are asked to give the event a shot this year by visiting its official webpage www.missghanatourismusa.org for information on how to register to become contestants.

Kwame also told TheAfricanDream.net that Miss Ghana Tourism USA/GTCR, in line with the tradition of the event, will in 2016 continue to encourage Ghanaians living in the U.S.A. to visit home often to learn more about their own cultures and share them with friends and families.

“We encourage potential visitors to consider exploring the rich culture and history of Ghana and its importance to the rest of the world, and forge potential investment opportunities as envisioned by the Ghana embassy in the U.S.A.,” Kwame said.

The Ghana Tourist Coach called on individuals and institutions everywhere (especially in the U.S.A. and Ghana) that are interested in becoming sponsors, media partners or vendors to directly reach out personally at phone number +1571 338 3789 or visit the event website at www.missghantourismusa.org for more information about how to contribute to the success of the 2016 edition.

GTCR said Whitney has since her crowning been spending her time promoting and helping to develop the tourism infrastructure in Ghana while bringing awareness to social issues like human trafficking and serving as spokesperson for the Miss Ghana Tourism U.S.A. organization.

Primary sponsors of the first edition of the event are South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, KDB Insurance Group LLC of the USA, GTP Tema, Green Homes Realty, Dr Takem, Group Ndoum, Ray Mensah State Farm, and Ofori Law Firm.
