The Nashville Rescue Mission is asking the public for 500 boneless hams to help prepare their annual Easter meal April 14-16.
The meal will also include green beans, potatoes, rolls and pie and will feed some 5,000 people, according to Rev. Glenn Cranfield, president/CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission.
“And it’s not just those who are homeless who come seeking a nutritious meal,” Cranfield said. “We’ll see plenty of men, women, and children who are struggling to make ends meet and will benefit from a hot, nutritious meal.”
The face of homelessness is changing in Nashville. That’s the word to those on the front line.
Experts say women and children are among the fastest growing population among those with nowhere to live. The shelter will also accept #10 canned vegetables, potatoes and more.
Donations will be received Monday through Saturday, from 7 am-7 pm at the donation center at 616 Seventh Avenue South. The public can also make online donations at <nashvillerescuemission.org/donate/donate-now/>.
