Kairos Kreative Ministries hosted a Showcase at Manna From Heaven Dinner House

“Shifting the Atmosphere” was the theme for the Creative Arts Showcase on May 4th.  And, that’s exactly what happened (the atmosphere was shifted into one of praise and worship) at Manna From Heaven Dinner House, 3510 West Hamilton Avenue, when the Kairos Kreative Ministries invited many other talented ministries to join them in a showcase that featured liturgical dance, praise dance, and mime through dramatic interpretations of gospel songs.  There was also a Christian hip hop  song performed by Larissa Warner.  She performed a special hip hop “go getter” music, “Let ‘Em Come Uh Huh” inspired by Shadrack, Meshack and Abindigo.

Kairos Kreative Ministries is a community-based ministry-centered arts company who seeks to restore the importance and purpose of this form of  ministry by serving as a resource for churches and communities.  This ministry performs through praise and liturgical dance, mime and drama.  “As ministries of the word, we wish to share the often unbeknowist biblical principles for ministry through creative arts thus educating , inspiring, and empowering others to use their gifts for the honor and glory of God,” as stated in their mission.

With great performances by all groups and lots of energy, emcee Damon King from 102.1 FM said, “We having church in here, all we need is an organ player.”  The dances and mime interpretations were so intense, performers were filled with the spirit and there was a performance by Full Effect Mime Ministry, a young man that gave his testimony that touched the entire crowd.  He mimed through the crowd, on the chairs, on the stage doing back bends and everything possible to the song, “I Love You Jesus,” after revealing that he had been in a car wreck that killed his friend and temporarily paralyzed him. Thus, he wanted to express his love and adoration for Jesus.

Performers on program were: Kairos Kreative Ministries, Olive Branch MBC, Metropolitan Praise Dancers, Anointed Touch Ministries, Ridley’s School of Dance, Angelic Saints of Praise from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Angels of Grace from Greater Grace Temple Community Church, Vessels of Praise from Fairfield MBC, Full Effect Mime Ministry, Adoration from Mt. Zion Baptist and True Worshippers from New Life Church.

Kairos Kreative Ministry will hold a Dance, Mime, Drama Summer Workshop June 28-29.
