Metropolitan Trustee Erica S. Gilmore

With the introduction of higher income thresholds, the Nashville Metropolitan Trustee’s Office is actively informing the community about significant updates to the eligibility criteria for the Property Tax Freeze and Tax Relief programs. As the application deadline draws near, Metropolitan Trustee Erica S. Gilmore is committed to ensuring that all eligible Nashvillians are aware of these changes and encouraged to apply.

These are some key program updates you should be aware of. The Property Tax Freeze program eligibility age for homeowners is 65 or older as of December 31, 2023. The maximum household income increased to $47,750. Please note that starting July 2024, the income limit will rise to $60,000, allowing more families to qualify.

For the Tax Relief program, the eligibility age for homeowners is also 65 or older as of December 31, 2023. The maximum household income for this program is $33,460.

Applications for both programs are now open and will be accepted through Friday, April 5, 2024. Eligible residents, including recipients of SSD, 100% VA Disabled Veterans, veterans widows and widowers, are encouraged to apply and take advantage of these financial assistance opportunities.

Trustee Gilmore is hosting in-person sign-up events throughout the Metro Nashville Government area. She, along with guest speakers from the Metro Action Commission and The Housing Fund (Nashville), will be there to educate participant attendees about these programs, and other resources available for seniors 65+.
