“Now I say that you are Peter [which means ‘rock’], and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates or the powers of hell will not prevail against it,” Matthew 16:18.
Jesus points out the characteristics of the church by upholding the inerrancy of the scriptures. The church will be God’s original masterpiece to be built by His spirit without error. First, He must set forth the foundation of the church to be a prophetic voice for change—not a profitable voice for self-gain.
The church must have the prophetic and apostolic anointing of God. It will shift the atmosphere where no one leaves the presence of God untouched. We are not just looking at a building as the church, but life itself. The universal church is the life of the believer not the building. All born again believers should see themselves as the life church.
As the life church, there is to be a difference in your life—so that others can see you are fully devoted to God.
- Your speech [the words you say] spreads life or death. Your mouth can release God’s Kingdom or be a tool for the enemy. Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
- The way we live in our home, ‘life church’ is a ‘holy family,’ where there is righteousness, peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and faithfulness (Galatians 5: 22-23).
- Service and outreach should be on the job, in the community, at school. When we lead, others will follow. We are representing God’s authority in the earth: We submit ourselves under God’s authority (Galatians 6:10).
This is how we’re able to make a difference as a driving force that represents God in everything we do. All of us have been given a ministry assignment that must be fulfilled. This is not the time to abort the call or the assignment of God for our lives.
We must change our way of thinking in this season so God can release His will [purpose] in our lives. We must move out of the way, so we can allow a demonstration of God’s power. Move away all evil spirits that have been assigned to stop you from being the ‘life church.’ We often fight a spiritual warfare to the extent we can’t see or think on what God has planed for us. He said: ‘I am the God that delivered you. Man cannot deliver you, only God can.’
“The Lord will rescue you from every evil deed and bring you safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen (2 Timothy 4:18).
