The Pearl High Class Of 1968 recently celebrated their 45th class reunion. The weekend celebration began on Friday, August 2, at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel’s Karaoke bar and Grille. Here the classmates attempted to sing old school favorites like ‘My Girl,’ ‘Stop in the Name of Love,’ and ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ as they enjoyed dinner.

On August 3, the celebration continued at the Archive Room at the original Pearl High School for a tour and memorial service.

The highlight of the weekend was a dinner cruises on the General Jackson Showboat on Saturday evening where the class enjoyed a show entitled ‘Music Across Tennessee.’ The music of Rufus Thomas and Otis Redding was especially enjoyable as the classmates attempted dance moves to old dances like the ‘Funky Chicken’ and the ‘Mashed Potato.’

Event organizers said this years’ celebration was such a joyous event that plans are already underway for the 50th reunion of the Pearl High Class of 1968.
